We asked the team how they’ll be celebrating Christmas and what they have planned for the summer ahead.
Nate, Senior Account Director
Summer for me will mean… regrouping and setting some new personal goals. I’m excited about our team’s upcoming planning day and seeing the outcomes from that. I am also looking forward to working on the 2019 Australia Day campaign and driving the PR agenda for the many events happening around our wonderful city.
Personally, I have a few good books to churn through over the summer and I’m hoping to get down to the beach as much as possible. Growing up in Queensland I’ve always had an affinity for the ocean, and at least for a few days over Christmas, I plan to be a lady of leisure with no calls or interruptions.
James, Head of Creative
It’s been particularly cold this past winter in Melbourne, which has been a great motivator to work on that #summerbod! I can’t wait to spend some time on the beach, catch up with friends and family, and ring in the new year in style!
Taylor, Account Executive
Christmas for me will be a week-long event. It’s my favourite time of year and we have lots of traditions I love crossing off the list. It’s just the best feeling getting into the Christmas spirit and spoiling those around you – as well as eating all the Christmas goodies!
For the rest of the break I’ll be eating and drinking great food and wine with all the best people in my life. Summer holidays always mean catching up with friends, fantastic family BBQs and coming back to work full of food and happiness!
Julie, Account Manager
This holiday season will be my first away from home with my family. I’m a little bit sad to miss all of the festivities, but also super excited because my boyfriend and I will be going to Japan! I can’t wait to get lost in the cities and eat as much sushi as humanly possible. When we get back, summer will be in full swing, and I’m determined to spend some time down in Torquay and become a surfer in my third year here in Australia. Work wise, we’ll be hitting the ground running with some big projects in the new year. As Nate likes to say – “Watch this space!”
Fiona, Account Manager
These holidays I’ll be heading to home to Queensland for lots of long, lazy lunches, cold beers and swims with friends. Then for Christmas we’ll be gorging on fresh seafood and cherries at my uncle’s place in Tassie. After a big year I’m looking forward to returning to work refreshed and most likely a few kilos heavier!
Amy, Account Executive
Christmas for me will be at home with my family. We have a full roast lunch, featuring bon bons (paper crowns, awful jokes and all), turkey, ham, stuffing, cheesy cauliflower, beans and pumpkin. Then mum forces us to eat the traditional Christmas pudding that no one likes, and then we all have a nap on the couch. It’s a great day. Over summer I am looking forward to spending more time with the fam, celebrating New Year’s at Falls Festival in Lorne, and hopefully catching some tennis at the Australian Open.
2018 has been a whirlwind of growth and change, so I am looking forward to this holiday season as an opportunity to relax and reflect.
I have a lot to be grateful for this year and family and friends are top of the list, with my fantastic colleagues a very honourable mention.
As far as festivities, there will be the mandatory seasonal get togethers as well as the privilege of celebrating my 10th wedding anniversary on a little beach somewhere just north of the equator (which has terrible mobile network coverage).
